Palestinian demonstrators take part in a protest against a potential expansion of Israeli settlements, in an area between Jerusalem and the West Bank settlement of Maaleh Adumim December 8, 2007. An Israeli minister on Saturday rebuffed criticism by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice of Israel's plan to build new homes on occupied land in the Jerusalem area, saying nothing should prevent the project.
