HAPPY MAY DAY!
MAYDAY 2000 IN FINLAND
On 1st May there will be a demonstration and a carnival against capitalism
in Helsinki. The events are organised by a group of Finnish anarchist,
antifascists, autonomous groups and environmentalists.
Main themes for the day are:
- Work and income
- Worldwide solidarity and freedom of movement
- Biocapitalism and genetic engineering

MayDay2K in Edmonton
MayDay2K
Open Air Rave and Street Party
MayDay2K will take place Monday May 1st at the gazebo park (83rd ave and 104
st) in Old Strathcona (next to the Arts Barns). DJs will begin spinning
at 5:00 pm but the party really kicks off at full speed at 7:30pm,
when the May Day parade arrives at the park, and won't stop till
10:00 pm. MayDay2K is set to coincide with the International Day
of Action Against Capitalism and is part of a global protest campaign,
carnival and street party being held in various cities.

EXPO2000 in HANNOVER, GERMANY
Starting in June 1st 2000 the World Exhibition EXPO 2000 will take place in
Hannover. It is planned as a German object of prestige. Its makers
intend to present no less than "solutions" to such global problems
of humanity as poverty, hunger and environmental destruction.
