[edit] Point of View

Every reference tool has bias and a point of view, including respected tomes such as the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Good journalism is advocacy journalism, not the so-called "neutral" crap allegedly produced by the major media. The same can be said for information resources such as reference books and online encyclopedias. Our goal is to provide accurate information from our point of view. Every article in an encyclopedia has bias. For example, your classic article on "coal" will probably present the coal industry and capitalism in a positive light. It will downplay labor strikes, coal industry unions, and environmental devastation caused by mining. This is a point of view or bias.

[edit] Neutral Point of View

For new entries on the Infoshop OpenWiki, it's OK if they start with a neutral point of view. Many articles here will start out as articles copied from Wikipedia or other sources. This is a temporary measure to provide content until users of this website can modify these articles.

[edit] Anarchist / Radical Point of View

The goal for most articles in this Wiki is to create an article representing an anarchist or radical point of view. An article on France, for example, will have basic information on geography, population numbers and so on, but writers using the APOV should make sure that the history of France and other information represents an anarchist or radical take on the subject.

[edit] Favorable to Organization

Entries on organizations should be factual, fair and favorable to the organization. Criticism of an organization can be included at the end, but its size should not exceed 25% of the overall entry.
